Windows 7 user log on problem

OH and I have our own user accounts. We usually just stay logged on and then use the 'switch user' option.

Last night OH tried to switch from my acount to his and got a black screen. We can see the white cursor but nothing else, we have to ctrl/alt/del to get out of the screen.

Only thing that has changed is a new router, could that have anything to do with it?

Do we have to delete the account and set up a new one or can we rescue his?

Hello young lady, hows the wiring? , can you log on into his a/c from a restart/cold start?

Getting there slowly but surely. Tis not fun crawling about in the loft amongst the insulation drilling holes everywhere. Slow and steady is the order of the day.

Seems to be everything has decided to have an issue all at once, though.

Can't log on from a restart, will try cold start shortly.

No need the restart is a warm boot, but it confirms that his account appears foobarred. I thnik it (or think even) that you may have to recreate a new one but will have a search first to see if i can find owt. Perhaps someone else might come up with any ideas in the meantime

Well after switching off completely and leaving for 10 minutes, it seems ok now. (I really should have tried that first .)

Can log onto his from cold and switch to mine and then back to his. I've bookmarked the link (thank you) just in case I need to refer again.

Onto the next issue............:D

Glad its solved , if you use Fast User switching make sure you shut open files first , because one or other of you will one day shutdown/restart/windows update will do it for you/ and then you might have a corruption somewhere.
