Honeymoon...HELP!

Hi guys! Totally stuck on honeymoon destinations.
We are not sure what our budget will be as guests are contributing to a travel agent honeymoon account but we predict between £1500-£2000
We cannot decide on a destination. We are going mid-August which rules out many Caribbean islands. Corfu is an option but doesn't seem like a once in lifetime destination (but we could choose a once in a life time resort.) Cape Verde is another but we are worried it will be too baron.
We are sooo confused! People have suggested Croatia but I can't find a resort we fancy. We don't want Canarys. Beach holiday would be ideal but also other things to visit. Fancy Egypt but have been told it is too hot in August (?)
Basically...

im in the same predicament as you, our honeymoon is also mid august and we are asking for donations towards it as wedding gifts.
were getting married on the 30th july and hoping to fly out the weekend of the 7th of August.so we have a week to book(last minute i know)
we were swaying towards croatia(i really wanted the maldives but i dont kno what money we will get and also the weather is pretty unpredictable then)
i did look at cape verde but i think its just hotel complexes in a baron land(feel free to correct me)
someone at my work gave me a look through their thomson platinum brochure and some of the hotels in there were beautiful, and not long haul places
how about portugal or USA?0 -
Best thing to do is to see how much money you recieve you might be in for a shock you might get more OR less than you think.
Then when you know exactly what you have walk into the travel agents and say we have XXXXX amount - its our honey moon money and we want to travel on such and such a date, and see what they come up with.
You can also do the same thing online.
Pick a few places you like with different price brackets, dont get your heart set on that all inclusive 5* destination just in case you cant afford it. Unless your willing to add to it to top it up yourselves that is.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Egypt is very hot in august, Turkey is a lovely place to go, check out Lykia world, olu deniz, we are going there in maywith thomas cook.
It has 22+ swimming pools, countless resstaurants it All inclusive plus, its probably best if you google it.
We went 6 years ago and i have been dying to go back we had so much fun as you can do as much or as little as you like.
Its a really gorgeous place to visit.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

We went on our honeymoon last August to Sri Lanka. It's very affordable, close to the Maldives and the weather was good. Egypt is really unbearably hot in August (and I like it hotter than most).0

Have you considered Mexico?
Our wedding is in June and we're thinking of going there. Theres 4 or 5 star all inclusive resorts that are within your budget.
We havent booked anything yet as they arent for sale for next year yet but we're going to book with Thomas Cook as OH gets a discount through work. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
picklepick, isn't Mexico in hurricane season then? I know people who have been in August and had to spend it locked in a room.

Yeah I've just realised that!
D'oh!
I think we'll stick with our original plan of a mini-moon in June and then a proper honeymoon in December!
Oh well, now we get 2 honeymoons instead of 1 hahaWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

AND... how awesome will it be to jump on a plane in December and be gone in the sun for 2 weeks. Paradise!
Why not consider that OP? We're going to stay for a long weekend in Edinburgh or somewhere similar for our mini-moonWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
How about Turkey? Lots of lovely resorts and plenty to see and do. Depends how hot you think is hot though, I've been at the beginning of September and it was lovely, and I don't cope with the heat very well.0
