Marks and Spencers Poor Customer Service

I don't know why everyone is being so nasty to you! I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more than a days wear before stitching starts to go.
Someone suggests you should have mended the hem yourself but what if you were never taught to sew?
As for Marble Arch's "wonderful" customer service - I recall a number of years ago I tried to return an unworn item and the assistant claimed it was not in a re-saleable condition (it was creased because it had been in the bag since I got it). I walked along to the Pantheon branch where it was accepted no questions asked.0 -
My (grown up) son had the same issue with new trousers from M & S. He just gave them to me to sew up properly for him. Problem solved within minutes

I've seen the price of M&S suits, they aint cheap. Don't know much about you but when I have paid that much for an item of supposedly quality clothing there is no way I'm going to sit down and start sewing after wearing it once.0 -
Williham... her son got his mum to do the sewing because she's obviously better at it than he is. That's normal. Not sure why you seem to have a problem with that.0

well personally I cannot believe the replies to this thread. I found it while looking up complaints on marks and spencers suits. The attitude of some people, get a life etc really does not help at all.
I bought a new suit from marks 3 months ago with 3 pairs of trousers so the suit will last me a while. Good job I thought this is good quality, fits well and was a good price. Today I returned the suit after exchanging 5 pairs of trousers for faults in the stitching coming undone. 4 pairs the hem has fallen down on 1 leg and 1 the pocket came apart after 1 days wear. The jacket had 2 long threads hanging from it and one arm was coming apart
Each store I visited was very good and accepted that the stitching was faulty. Great customer service but the product was not good. The manager today said that the product would be returned to the manufacturer as a defective product. The original suit was dark blue pin striped and I exchanged it for a more expensive dark blue suit today and made up the difference myself.
I could have sewed the suit up and would have probably just come apart somewhere else
Without seeing the original persons suit I cannot reply to what I think was the issue, poor customer service or misunderstanding on the product so I will reserve my judgement0 -
The issue here is whether the leg was meant to be adjustable or not. Several people have told you in store that it was meant to be. If, however, you think that they are wrong, write/phone headquarters, and they should be happy to do a quality check for you. Let us know the outcome.
