Hotel late check outs - Any top tips....

I often book late night flights home on Sunday, so I get a full weekend in the resort, sometimes I book the Sunday night in the hotel so I can get a shower and then can leave when I want instead of 12 noon. Is there a cheaper way of getting very late checkouts of say 8pm?

We always book late checkouts with the hotel while in resort as it usually works out cheaper and we get the room till the time we are leaving.
Mind you saying that there has to be a vacant room for them to do that but we have never had any problems keeping our own room anywhere we have stayed."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
Some hotels do a 1/2 day rate which let you check out at 8pm for 1/2 the cost.I normally ask for a late checkout which can vary from 13:00 up to 16:00 depending on the Hotel.0

Do you ask at reception when checking in or pre-book the late checkout blindman?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Has to be when checking in as it depends on room availabilty the day I'm leaving and how friendly the staff are.It is hit and miss0

When is it more likely to be a hit for a Sunday night? Largish hotel, off peak season, no conferences?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

How long's a piece of string ?Depends upon:1 Hotel policy- some will NOT extend you stay whatever.2 Staff friendly\professional. Some are not aware, some don't care.3 Cleaning staff availablity: If yours is the only one to clean on that floor, then probably not, if there's loads to clean then they could put it off for a while. If the cleaning staff have to have finished ALL rooms by a set time then maybe\maybe not.If you have a specific hotel in mind then ring them up and ask for their late check out policy or if they have a 1/2 day rate etc.0

It might be worth asking if they have a courtesy room that late flyers can use for a shower. If they have it wil prob be free of chargeSnootchie Bootchies!0

Book your hotel through AMEX Platinum. That guarantees a late check out.0
