I used to own a Cretive Zen Vision M MP3 Player.
I hadn't used it for a long time before I sold it on, so I reinstalled the software onto my laptop to allow me to remove all my music etc. off the player.
I then deleted all the programs, but ever since have had a small box popup on my desktop screen saying 'Gentle reminder: Register your Creative products now to enjoy a host of benefits.
If I click on the OK button it takes me through to a registration page (via a warning to make sure my MP3 player is attached, and if I click on the close 'x' in the top right corner, it just reopens. I cannot close it whatever I do, and it's REALLY annoying!
I have, to the best of my knowledge, removed all related software from my computer (well, anything with 'Creative' in the title, at least), and I then searched for Creative in 'uninstall programs', finding two more to do with a Creative webcam (don't know what that is), and a Creative avatar (no more clue than with the last one). Evidently, there is still something lurking, but I have no idea what, and if anyone could tell me what, I would be very grateful as that box won't go away and is very annoying!
Thanks in advance,
Pickle

P.S. I did a general search under 'Creative' and it didn't come up with anything else.

XP
Try disabling it directly then via the StartUp settings list, go to Start-> Run-> type msconfig and hit Enter, on one of the tabs you'll see a list of programs/files that are loaded automatically at startup, if you untick something there it shouldn't load when Windows starts.
VISTA
Run is hidden by default. To get it visible
1. Right click on the Start button, and click Properties.
2. From the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog, click Customize.
3. Scroll down through the list until you find Run command. Check the box next to it.
4. Click OK.
5. Continue as for XP0 -
