Is that tech speak for "Turn it off and on again"?
As a precaution, you should create the restore DVD's set soon to avoid embarassing scenes and worry in the future. There should be a program on the PC to do this, with luck. Type in your PC model into Google with "restore DVD" and it might help.0 -

Hello,
From what you've posted, I'm assuming you have a laptop as this is perfectly normal behaviour for a 'removable' DVD/CD drive.
Some laptops have what are called 'removable' DVD/CD drives which allow them to be physically unplugged and replaced with eg a floppy drive or extra battery.
Only laptops have these kind of drives (well I work in IT and have never seen a desktop with one).
This means they show up in the list of 'removable' devices along with the USB drives and it can be very easy to click to unplug them by mistake. A simple re-boot as fixes the problem (as you were advised above) or there is a special switch usually beside the drive that makes the whole drive pop out (not just the disc tray) and then you can just push it back in (this saves time on re-booting).
Hope that helps,
NiVZ0
