Where should I put lavender in a pot?

Hi everyone,
I splashed out on a lavendula augustfolia plant in Lidl this week - am I right in thinking that's a lavender plant? It's in a plastic plant pot which sits in an outer pretty terracotta pot.
As I am completely clueless on gardening (but keen to learn) I don't know if it's supposed to be kept indoors or outside.
Could anyone advise where I can put it so it won't die on me?!

Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

I think it's fairly hardy so plant it outside and enjoy the bees

I have lavender in pots and leave them outside.
One is not looking too good after the snow, but generally they are hardy.

Thanks for the replies - at least I now know it is lavender.
I'll stick it outside and hope for the best! Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

Yep - bees will love it. My FIL always says that a sign of a good garden is lots of bees.

I like bees, hope I get lots. I do remember having bees last year but my garden tends to be more full of slugs and snails! Wonder if your FIL could guess from that that my garden is a tad neglected!

Make sure the weathers reasonable first as even lavenders will have been grown under shelter and even in a heated greenhouse to get a sellable plant at at this time of year.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

That's what I was afraid of - it's still very wintry here. Hmmm, just thinking I could put it in my porch. It's cold but would be a bit better than outside. Would be warm for the few hours the sun shines in. Sort of like a halfway house till it goes outside full-time. Would that work do you reckon?Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

Your porch sounds like an ideal spot for the time being
I have lavender in a pot near the front door, bakes in summer but comes to no harm and gives nice scent as folk brush buyWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
