Park Resorts and Tesco Clubcard

Has anyone used Clubcard vouchers to buy tokens for Park Resorts?

I did, and phoned today to book for Cayton Bay. Having read some mixed reviews on the internet, we had opted to go for the Platinum caravans, but were told these weren't available.

The Clubcard website states that you can't use them for Platinum lodges but no mention of caravans. I'm not sure whether the person meant there were just none available or if she thought that the tokens can't be used.

I checked the website and it is still showing availability for the Platinum caravan.

Anyone had experience of this?

  • I used tesco clubcard vouchers last year to pay for a weeks stay in a GOLD caravan. I don't really know about the platinum limitation for caravans, it may well be an error on behalf of the particular operator you spoke to.

I think the easiest way to get your question answered is to phone them again and try and do the same booking again. If they say no availability ask directly if this is due to you using vouchers. If it is then at least you know where you stand and can adjust your booking if you wish.

Some more advice. From my experience the reviews are pretty spot on and the accommodation is no where near being worth the prices they charge. I know you get to pay with clubcard vouchers but it's not always the right way to go.

We were going to book with Park resorts for a stay in Yorkshire. The quote for a gold caravan was about £700. We looked around and found a really nice cottage overlooking the north yorkshire moors for £400. We are then left with the vouchers to convert to days out while away and for eating out.

They only have so many that can be paid for with clubcard vouchers, so it may be that they've all gone. It's not the nicest caravan park in the world, to be honest. Lovely area though - Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Brid.....

Yeah, we have gone to Primrose Valley a few times now, and do like the area. Just a shame Haven don't participate in the Clubcard scheme!
