The flowergirl dress arrived today and is in pretty much mint condition. My flowergirl will be pleased.

Ordered tiny sew on diamantes for my dress (I am doing all the embellishment myself so I have complete control over how it looks) and they have arrived too. My dress itself isn't due til the end of the month but I think they have started making it already as I have had emails about certain features on the dress. Fingers crossed they don't make a mess of it!

Been looking at the cheap favour bags on ebay. Think we'll be buying some of those at some point.

I['ll be making our wedding invites. Made the engagement party ones and folk gave me compliments.

Oh and my friend who is a DJ has said he'll do our wedding for £75. We've a few friends who are professional club DJ's but one is an usher so we can't expect him to do it. OH wants complete control over the music played (DJ friend is notorious for playing cheesy pop) so we need to sort that out.

There are two similar styles for my BM dresses (due to sizes) the other ones were £15 each plus postage! Even more bargainous! I'm going to embellish those with diamantes too (subtly) probably on the shoulder strap, so they match my dress.
  • your necklaces sound like such a nice idea-love how you are personalising them all for each bridesmaid. It's great that you're able to do so much of the stuff yourself-you sound so creative! I know I would never be able to do stuff like that! good luck with everything!

Gosh, I wish I'd had a dress like that when I was a bridesmaid! Instead, I ended up looking like a secretary and was freezing. Gorgeous hair pieces too. What lucky bridesmaids to have such a thoughtful and tasteful bride!

    Enjoy your big day!

I'm thinking of having an Art Deco/20's theme for the wedding. The grecian style dresses are very Art Deco as it is. Maid of honour paints in her spare time and is doing us a Rennie Mackintosh inspired painting for our engagement present so with her help I could incorporate that into our invites/table plans/decorations.
  • What about wedding cake?

I suggested we buy a variety of plain white iced cake sizes from Tesco/Asda/Insert-Supermarket-Name-Here (shock horror!!!) and decorate them ourselves as she wants a 3 tier sponge stack (no columns) which I reckon we could easily do for £50.

She nearly exploded. Caterer it is. £300 on a bloody cake!
