How do i complain?

I guys,
wonder if anyone can help.
We went on a one week holiday to Salou,(good deal),but had to travel from Glasgow to Manchester,and the times were not good.
We had to decide if it was worth it ,with 3 children under 4 and one 10 year old.The times were,( coming back) from spain- 4.30am and arrives manchester- 5.50am.
The problem is we requested late check out,and the girl reassured us we did have it,it would be a 6.30pm check out, and she said to ask at the reception to see if we could pay to have the rooms for longer, we did that,they said, it would be 91.40euros,we said ok, then they said sorry no rooms,totally full, i said ok then 6.30 pm will have to do,then he said, no , not 6.30pm , 10.30 AM.
So we had to check out at 10.30am with the kids on the last day and hang about for 15 and a half hours till the bus came.(they gave us keys for a room for a quick shower,but that had to be shared between all the people who were leaving that day,you can imagine how dirty the room was, when we asked for towels,they said, sorry , no towels, everyone has no towels for the courtesy room!)
SO i am now back home and i found that thompson sent me a confirmation letter,stating that i did have late check out!!!!!But the letter came after i left for the holiday!It was a horrible last last day. What can i do?
