you should go your local citizens advice centre and speak to there debt advisers
they may be other options
some people in debt such as yourself can apply to the likes of united utilities trust fund for a grant to totally pay this debt off
but to get the full low down you would have to see the CAB they know what is available in your area
obviously them taking £15 a week is going to be devastating to someone in your situation as it will end up costing you a lot more
they should never have let it get this far tbh0 -
the 15 will be repayment of the debt my usage will be on top of that ive had some good news today after many phone calls to council it turns out my house has had nothin done since the 1960's ! i have a surveyer comin out on thursday my home doesnt meet desent home standards the ppl that lived here me before me refused anything updating so basically the insulation is nil the heaters are so old they dont even make them anymore let alone parts to fix them (explains why they dont heat rooms) i have appt with cab tomorrow im going to ask them about could i hold the council at fault with some of the bill as the desent home standards should of been met in 2008 well before i moved into house and the house was checked over before i was given keys so they knew what was what just one more phone to make to home help heat line to see if i qual for a discount with been low income even thou i still have a huge debt things are looking up with new insulation etc my bills should come down alot leaving that bit more to pay of the debt thanks again for everyones help0
