Hi. Sold my car last week and am looking for a replacement. I should cancel my car insurance but I thought I'd keep it on to be able to test drive cars. Now, if the owner of the car I sold had an accident, would it affect my no claims? Should I cancel it right now this instant???? Any help appreciated as the last thing I need are my insurance premiums going up after several years of very careful driving!

Be very careful because my insurance policy states my cover ends when I sell my car or it becomes damaged beyond economical repair. If yours is the same then you'll be driving other cars uninsured...0

Read the small print of your policy then phone the insurance company and have a word with them if it's not clear.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

CANCEL IT IMMEDIATELY.
If the new owner crashes and the third party he hits checks the motor insurance bureau your policy details would be listed. This can lead to your insurance company being obliged to settle on a without prejudice basis. Bang goes your NCB and expect premium loading as a result too, it really isn't wort it0 -
I would phone your insurance company and advise them of your current situation, the may be prepared to susspend your policy for a week or two. But I stress mayI used to be me !! what happened
