do British Gas service the boiler under Homecare agreement?

Do they still service boilers or just an insoection nowadays. I know they sued to ebfore but I have moved house and cannot find any information on the subject. I need to keep my newly installed boiler serviced yearly so not to void the boiler warranty.

Thanks in advance for help.

If they can get away with it BG will only stick a FGA in the flue and if it reads correctly they won't do anymore to it.

Older boilers still have to be stripped down and cleaned every service though.

Note BG use the term 'inspection' rather than service these days. Also be wary that BG seem to add an extra month to the service interval in a lot of cases.

You don't have to be Einstein to work out how much money that will save them over time, doing the 'service' every 13 months, instead of 12.
  • If it is an inspection then that would be different to a boiler service. I was speaking to a gas safe registered engineer and was told that if the manufacturer instructions say its ok just to use a flue gas analyser then that is all thats required. Better not to break seals and over boiler was what I was told. I need a service in the London area, what are the probable costs please?

Actually, I will post a new thread.

    Thanks for the avove help.

Have you also noticed that they ask for the renewal payments one month earlier each year as well!
