Have you been to Nottinghill Carnival in August?

Options
Hi all,

I've been asked by friends if I want to join them for the festival at the August Bank Holiday weekend, and wondered if anyones been and recommends it please?

I have heard it's packed and an experience but just would like to find out a little more about it please..

Have you been in the last few years?

Yes, I've been for the last 3 years, it's great fun. Be aware though that the crowds are huge (I think I saw more people at my first carnival than in the rest of my life put together!), which can be a little alarming at times.

Thanks Stompa, is there plenty of places to stop for a drink and is there good food on offer?

You'll find an endless number of stalls selling food and drink of one kind or another, for example (for 2009):

Thanks Stompa, that's got my tastebuds going!! I love carribean food...

I'm a little nervous about going as it's known to be very crowded but on the other hand would love to experience it as have never been before!!

A friend of mine was telling me that there are houses you can pop into to use the bathroom for £1 :)

Yes, they often have very long queues though!
