I have to say....The Best Airline that I have ever flown with!!!

Large legroom...First Class Service...Happy Friendly Staff...Prompt, efficient and the list goes on.......

All this from a budget airline!!!

I have to agree they are very good. We were charged for our meal by the travel agents but Astreus say in their in flight magazine that they believe everyone should have a meal. Got our money refunded.

I had never heard of Astreus Airlines before booking my holiday to The Gambia......... and I hope I never hear of them again!

This was, without doubt, the worst travel experience of my life, and I travel extensively for both business and pleasure.

Three hours stuck on the tarmac at Bristol Airport because the plane was overbooked and they had loaded luggage for passengers who were unable to get a seat. Three hours during which we were each given half a glass of water........ prisoners get better treatment than this!

We then taxied out for takeoff only to be told that there had been a miscalculation and we were overweight, so we had to sit for a further 30 minutes whilst 600kg of fuel was burnt off!

On arrival at Banjul 51 passengers found out that their luggage was still in Bristol.......... it arrived 4 days later.

How could they possibly be overweight if the luggage for one third of the passengers had been left behind???

All told, on the outward journey, we spent 10 hours cramped up in a 737-700 series which is really only suitable for short / medium haul journeys. Legroom for a 6'2" passenger like myself was frankly disappointing so it made for a very uncomfortable journey.

The return trip was no better.

The flight was 1.5 hours late boarding and just as we had boarded and sat down we were informed the the fuel bowser's pump had packed up. OK, this was not the airline's fault, but yet again we sat for three hours before takeoff and were given half a glass of water again!!!

Never again!!!!! I will avoid this airline like the plague.
