I just checked Insuresupermarket and they have Smart listed as a make. Otherwise, try Mercedes, Daimler or Chrysler.

    I have one!

Usually listed under MCC SMART in most insurance databases, but do shop around. I got a quote for my roadster from SMART insurance and it was £650!!!! searched around a bit and got it for £250 for a 30 year old male - full no claims 3 points car on driveway.

Do you know if LHD models are more to insure than RHD ones?
    Can I help?

OH used to have a Smart Coupe, and the Smart Club is very active and very helpful. You will certainly find it useful to browse their website, especially the forums. Post a message and the response is almost as quick as MSE!

If you plan to drive in the UK then yes it will be more. The risk to the insurance Co is more as you are sat on the oposite side of the car.

If you are looking at LHD models also be aware that some of the very early models had 60BHP and not the 80 that they come with now.
