PPI Reclaim advice

Hi
I have followed all of the advice so far about reclaiming PPI's I have had success from LTSB and received a refund of all PPI Premiums, interest and 8% within 3 weeks of writing my first letter to them totalling over £2000. I am in the process of trying to claim back my PPI's from MBNA Credit Card. I sent the first letter, recived a letter back asking me to phone them which I did. I spoke to a claims manager who advised that they weren't accepting responsibility but were prepared to refund a third of my premiums as a good will gesture. I advised that this was not acceptable to me and I wanted the full refund, interest and 8% they also stated that they were recording my call. I have today recieved a letter from them advising that they have credited my card with the refund of a third of my premiums - can they do this even though i turned it down and does this prevent me from taking my case further?
Any advice would be gratefully recieved. Thanks

Hi and welcome.
In my opinion you should have agreed to this before they continued to do this, so I would write to them and tell them your not happy with the way this complaint have been dealt with, also inform them you are aware the calls are recorded, you was advised of this and for this matter you are also requesting they send you a copy of the calls.
Because you told them what you wanted on the phone, then this will help your case, especially if you decide to want to move this on to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), they will know you were not happy with that suggestion they made on the phone - and yet they continued to carry on with it.
So due to this write a letter of complaint about the above, request for the copy of the recordings (prefably by a disc), give them 8 weeks and if they don't resolve then move on to the FOS.
Another way is to write to request for a copy of the recordings from the bank, and contact the FOS at your earliest convenience next week, tell them about the above and ask if they can help you, by writing on your behalf about this matter.

Hope this helps, good luck and please keep us posted.
