Whistling Boiler??

Hi there, I'm looking for some advice. :)
At the beginning of December I had a boiler fitted by a couple of cowboys!! Gas Safe registered cowboys but still cowboys. They even managed to put together the condenser pipe with so much glue that it blocked it!!! I've had a few radiator valve leaks since, but they have been sorted as far as I know.
Last night when I was running a bath for my son (hot water tap on only) there was a whistling noise coming from the boiler, it stopped when I turned on the downstairs cold tap and then started again when I turned the tap off. I'm usually the only person that has baths (the rest of the family have showers!) so I've never noticed it before as I'm in the bathroom when it's running. The other half said that it often makes that noise but obviously didn't think to mention it before!!! I've tried it this morning to try and do some more investigations but there's no whistling now!! Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? It's a Vaillant Ecotec plus 824 boiler.

I also found out last week that they haven't registered the works with Gas Safe, but I'm not sure if they have to or not so I'd be grateful if someone can clarify that for me. It was a new boiler, in the same place but with the gas pipes cut, then run outside and back into the house as the existing pipes were to small.
Many thanks in advance. :)

All new boiler installations MUST be registered/notified to Gas Safe. They then issue you a certificate and notify the local building control department.

From the sounds of it, you appear to have had a cheap and bad job done. Did you pay cash by any chance?

As with most new boilers, these have to be commissioned properly with a flue gas analyser. This is the only way to set these up.

It could be this noise is just that they did not set it up.

It could also be the water block whistling.

You need to get them back and check it all over for you.
