New Mattress too deep

I have just brought two matressess one for our double bed and one for single guest bed

I did not really notice that these are very deep in comparison to my old ones.

This means that my fitted sheets no longer fit them eeekkkk

Has anyone else had the same problem and where can I find fitted sheets to fit.

Im really miffed that I now have new sheets that I cant use

  • If it is a normal double bed then buy some king size fitted sheets. The sheets that you cant use cut down and use on the single bed.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

the obvious answer is to buy flat sheets....and sell the fitted ones you cant use on ebay or boot sale.

I used to sell beds within a department store and we used to recommend Dorma bedding and Coloroll. I don't know if they are still available but their fitted sheets were deeper and the staff used to try them on our display beds for the customer if you measure the depth first?

Flat sheets for a larger bed size....Or some deep sided fitted sheets. QVC sell deep sided ones (15 to 18 inches depth, I think) specifically for deeper matresses and their feather beds. They're not cheap though :)
  • I had the same problem when we bought our bed and mattress. I found deep fitted sheets at Dunelm Mills. can't remeber how much they were though.
  • aah i have had this problem, i always buy dorma and they didn't fit either, it was a single bed size. in the end i replaced the mattress and when i went for a new one i took a tape measure, i didn't know you could buy special sheets
  • I had the same problem, they do make fitted sheets for deeper mattresses. My mum bought some for me from a catalogue, which for the life of me I can't remember the name of at the moment. Not fantastic quality but they'll do and it saves breaking you nails trying to peel the sheet over the corner of the mattress. I'll post back as soon as I find out the name of the catalogue it was.

We bought some lovely jersey fitted sheets from Lidl, they had deep sides and plenty of stretch in them. They always wash well and feel soft on the skin.
  • Dunelm mill sell deep fitted sheets which have solved this for us and aren't stupidly expensive.
