At the end of the day, you borrowed and need to pay it back. If you make the term longer then the interest WILL increase.
I'm sure the OP knows this already but it's nice of you to point out the obvious
Nothing gets past you ehYou cannot expect banks to reduce loan payments for everyone that can't keep their legs shut.
Seriously, what are you 12?Future Mrs Gerard Butler

Then it will drop to £120 ish once baby is one.
I was going to argue that because I know I don't even get £120ish for BOTH of my children, went and checked my statement and I get £105.60 every 4 weeks and according to the Child Benefit website I should be receiving £138.20
I think some investigation is needed:silenced:0 -

While sort of harsh, I have to agree to some extent. If you can't afford to service your debt with a child perhaps now is not the best time to be having children given they are another big expense.0 -

The day that people are banned from having kids in this country because someone thinks they can't afford them is the day we should all pack up and leave.
The OP has laready said that they didn't plan the pregnancy, but now that it is on the cards they are excited - and rightly so!!! People have had kids for centuries and in far worse economic situation than the OP is in, strangely these people grew up okay. The proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

Incredible, about the most idiotic biggotted statement I've read all day (and there are a lot to choose from on these forums).
I'm assuming that you insist on doing a full credit check on any potential partner prior to 'having fun'? :rotfl:The proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

The OP has already stated that it wasn't planned!!

Hi,
Just echo everyone comments - use the next few months to ebay to get extra money & save, save, save. The temptation with the first baby is to go and get everything you need but try and reuse where possibel from family/friends. Children get MORE expensive as they get older (I have a teen and younger children) and you'll need all the money you can when older. Also you don't want to be stressed in the early days of a new baby with money worries.
Good Luck0
