Kays Lifestyle Commission Complaint

Kays lifestyle as recently being taken over by littlewoods, but it is now unfair to lifestyle customers (self included)because the catalogue prices are exactly the same as littlewoods catalogue but kays lifestyle DO NOT pay 10/12.5% commission, before kays lifestyle were taken over the prices were considerably cheaper than kays catalogue and great universal etc, this was because of the no commission policy by kays lifestyle,So basically now if you run kays lifestyle they are conning customers out of the 10/12.5% commission, which i find disgusting,i have telephoned them about this but all they say is that each catalogue as its own t&cs and do not really care about this situation.this is grossly unfair behaviour by this company.

Reading this, you have just reminded me to close my account with Kays Lifestyle. I have cleared the balance this week. I also have an account with Littlewoods and couldn't believe it with both the Kays Lifestyle and Littlewoods catalogues arrived on the same day 2 weeks ago, identical bar the fron covers.

    Thanks for reminding me

Having worked for a large mail order group, this sort of thing was common practice. All the call centre advisors could deal with all the brands. The catalogue number was made up of 1 character that represented the department (eg electrical, womens clothing etc), a second character that represented which catalogue/ brouchure etc it had been ordered from and then 4 (or 5, it has been a long time) numbers which identified the item within the department.

An advisor could replace the catalogue identifier with a ? and when they pressed enter (back in the days of mainframe access rather than windows) it came up with a list of all the possible catalogue codes including what they were (so things like Brand X spring/ summer 2006, Brand Y spring/ summer 2006, Brand Z spring sale etc) and the price listed in each one. Even when you ignored sales there could be a massive difference in prices between the brands add sales and you could have Brand X selling it at £100 and Brand Y for £50... there was no restriction to prevent a customer simply using the code from one of the other brands but unless the customer quoted it then they paid the price from the catalogue they had got it from (even if their own brand had the same item in a sales catalogue)

Yeah I have not ordered since Kays Lifestyle changed, I will probably clear my account and just use my mum's littlewoods one as she will get the comission

My account is closed now. The girl said "the computer is asking why you want to close your account" so I mentioned about being identical to Littlewoods but without the cashback. I think quite a few people will cancel.

I have had my latest Kays Lifestyle statement today (clear balance) and it is also identical to Littlewoods ones - purple.

Another good reason to switch to littlewoods from kays lifestyle is that you get an additional 6% on your total order if you go through quidco,so in reality you can get 16%(10%commision+6% quidco cashback)kays lifestyle stopped all quidco cashbacks at start of july.so you get NOTHING ordering from kays lifestyle:mad:

I think Kays Lifestyle must be losing business, I have been offered buy now pay June 2007!!!!!!
  • I worked for Littlewoods years ago. Their catalogue prices were always at lest #5 higher than others. The workers used to complain about that as it wasn't worth using the discount, cheaper to buy from Gratton etc.
