Its good to see that you have managed to increase your income - are you doing more shifts at Morrisons?

You have made huge inroads into your debt in 2 months - you appear to have paid off over £2100. How have you done this? can you keep this level of repayment up? if so you could br debt free before summer.

Looking at your budget -do you need to include something for toiletries - you havn't budgeted for any which I am not certain is realistic for you.

With regards to your driving lessons how often are you having these and how long is each lesson?

Considering your financial situation and the fact you are a student and certainly could not afford to buy and run a car, you might be better off putting these on hold until you finish your degree and are earning a better wage, and using the £160 towards your debts.

Well done on making some headway :T

If you have paid off your other student overdrafts, can you use any to pay off the catalogues/cards? I know you have said you are not bothered about interest rates but these are very high meaning that most of each of your small monthly payments are going to pay interest and are not actually reducing the debt. Why pay any company any more than you need to?

Ditto what Tixy says on a products budget for you and on the car scenario - you can learn to drive when you've got the income to support a car :)

Of the £285 budget surplus, how much went to debt repayments last month?

    Good Luck

Tixy, she hasn't repayed the £2k infact she has just left if off her SOA. That is infact her current student overdraft :o
my current overdraft has been maxed since the day i got it. so i am focusing on paying things that charge interest just now

LPS, things have indeed changed but if anything its for the worse. WW I can understand, the gym and driving lessons I can't. You won't be able to afford a car on your wage, you certainly won't be able to keep a car on the road with all your excess spends. As for the gym there are free was to get into shape... Running, swimming (pay per session), excercise dvd's, walking etc etc. I guess this is a contract thing? So what happens when you no longer want to visit the gym? You will then have a £23 outgoing for nothing :o

It is also extemely apparent that you seem to have lots of different persona's all over the internet :( If we are to believe you then all the things you have sold on ebay and another forum has gone towards repaying your debt. Yet I know for certain this is untrue, you have purchased things online and in store at least 6 times in the last week (ie from the 15th). Adding these things up I wouldn't be surprised it this total anything in excess of £200. You need to curb this spending! Why do you buy so much? Is it to keep up with the Jone's or is it just to fill some kind of 'gap'?

I have followed you from your first posting here on DFW and to be honest nothing has changed. If anything you have got into far more debt :o I fear that no matter what we say you are on that slippery path. I really hoped that with you being young have a fair few spare days off of uni that you can work in you could get this debt under contraol in a short space of time. Sadly it would seem you have other ideas....

    Good luck :D
  • I don't plan on getting a car, my mum is going to let me use hers. And she is going to pay my insurance.
I had driving lessons for my 21st, but got sick of it. 2 years later, and i want to learn to drive again. It would be so much easier for gettong home from work when i am doing a backshift.
They cost £20 per lesson, and i am getting 2 lessons a week.

As for the gym, it is the gym in my uni, and you only pay monthly and there is no contract, it's a pay as you go type thing. You pay your £23 online, take in your confimation email and they give you a pass for the month, and you do the same again next month.

Yes i have been working more hours, and have been working 8/9 hour shifts on a sunday at time and a half.
I have been selling ALOT of stuff on ebay, and have made over £200 in a month from it. Some went to my debts, and some a spent on things to cheer myself up a bit.
I have also been doing some babysitting for my mums friend, on and off. She gives me £25 for it. I go round, sit with the girls. They go to bed at 8pm. Then i watch tv, and go to sleep in the spare room, and walk home in the morning.

I have also stopped smoking, which has probably saved me about £25 a week! Which again i used to treat myself with at first, as a kinda well done for not smoking incentive.

Leaving debts and spending off the SOA paints a misleading picture to people giving you advice. How much have you spent on clothes and toiletries in 2010, where is that in the SOA?

The advice you get in your SOA threads is always the same, stop spending, budget, and pay off the high apr debt first.

There is no way you can afford to run or insure a car on current income, so don't really see the point in taking driving lessons, wait until you have a full time job. Gym and weightwatchers doesn't help your finances either.

I have included my spending under entertainment, as to me that is entertainment. I dont go to the cinema, or rent films, or buy dvds or cds, as i download it all. so my entertainment is shopping, and trying out new beauty products.
