When shall i ask for extension of my DLA?

Rang them yesterday. They will not extend the DLA simply for a car. They will have to look at the whole claim, my motability and care needs. The award can be extended, increased, decreased or worse stopped. Have decided to wait till October since i can have a lease extension of 6months on the current car.
However will try to see if i can get some advive from CAB and see what they say.
Havnt you been posting on the car section about buying a car and which is best?0 -
Yep i have as a back up. Always plan for the future/back up plan.
Another problem i have now is that my mileage is roughly 4k a year. Was thinking i may be better off buying an older car. Trouble is when i do the sums in 3 years i am only roughly £1k worse off if sticking with motability scheme. Although i will still have my private car in my possession after 3 years if i bought a car.
Naturally kids wants their dad to have a new car
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

Dad wants a new car to sometimes

I have been toying with selling our car and swapping my Mobility part for a car, but the wife and her sensible head explains our car is very adequate for our needs and more importantly, paid for.
In a way i agree with your wife. In my case my 11 year mondeo with over 160k miles on the clock needed money spending on it in the near future. Still had the original clutch although it looked like it will need replacing soon and it is not cheap on these cars, engine out etc.
At the time money was tight. Had two choices, spend £5 on a high mileage newish car and pay insurance etc or go through motability route. Went through motability route.
If your car is running reliabily then keep it.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way
