Where are my wages!!!
Comments
-
I get paid on the last day of every month, which would have been yesterday. When i told my boss that my wages hadnt gone in, his reponse was 'oh well, its a short month, and it'll probably go in on monday'
PROBABLY!! my wages pay my bills, and i cant pay them on 'probably'
Also, i called my bank to see if they were in fact going in on monday, and they are not. Fantastic. I asked my boss to check their online banking and make sure that the payment is on its way - to which the reply was' it will be, i cant understand why your annoyed'
For gods sake, i'm the only employee, you wouldnt think it was that hard to pay me on time.
sorry for the rant, but this is so frustrating - i think their attitude is making it worse - if we get a cheque a few days let (i work for an estate agents) my boss flies of the handle, but my wages - dont even register.0 -
ive just found out i havent been paid, i was in the office yesterday talking about how it was payday today as i was supposed to be on leave and noone mentioned a thing.... so now i have at least 2 dd charges from barclays, plus at least 70 from the payday loan i got to cover missing expenses from last month, i dont know what to do and i cant get in touch with anyone at the office as its too early, i cant drive the 120 miles i need to to site today, its such a mess...... Are my employer legally obliged to repay me for any charges i get? if it was just the mised dds at £8 each i might be ok but this payday loan thing is gonna take so much of my money, I know i should never have gone for it but had no choice thanks to missed expenses payment (works fault) and broken car which i need for work! please help!0

This has happened to me before. I contacted the bank, and so long as there is evidence of money going into your account at regular intervals (e.g. evidence of monthly salary) then usually the bank could exercise discretion and clear your direct debits etc. Why don't you try and see if they'd do the same for you? Might be worth a shot? Just explain what has happened and see what they say.
Good luck! :A:mad: Hindsight is a wonderful thing...

DEBT FREE AT LAST... BUT FOR HOW LONG?! :eek:0 -
a couple of years ago my employer stuffed up the BACS payment for all 6,000 employees. They ran the batch in 'Test' rather than 'Live' mode! Eventually got paid 3 days later.
They covered everyone's bank charges/default charges/all sorts.
Moral of the story recognised but not learned at the time: Don't live paycheck to paycheck. If you're up the creek without a paddle after one missing wage payment, you are walking a financial tightrope, and wobbling precariously. Get an emergency fund.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. Where do I get one of these "emergency funds"? Do they sell them in Tesco? If so how much do they cost?
Not wishing to be picky, but not everyone is in the position to have such an emergency fund."Life is a sexually transmitted disease....... with a 100% mortality rate"0 -
Emergency fund is a term for putting some money aside each month for emergencies. Say £20 a month put into a separate current/savings account. So if wages are not paid on time, or car breaks down. You have something to go to in the meantime.
If you are totally stuff, look up crisis loans from the job centre, there are certain conditions on these. Not wishing to be picky, but not everyone is in the position to have such an emergency fund.
Oh, you were being sarcastic :P
Your right not everyone is in that position, but you can't paint everyone with the same brush, some people are in a position to do it. If your not you in for a rougher ride due to circumstancesAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
If you can't do it, then that speaks volumes in itself to over-commitment along the line.
I'm not picking, here. I'm saying you need to look at your circumstances.

This happened to me a few years ago, I had DDs set up to come out on payday which meant I went into an unauthorised OD. I asked the bank to write a letter saying if my wages had gone in on time this wouldn't have happened, I gave the letter to payroll and they paid any charges I incurred.Proud to be dealing with my debts - LBM Mar 2010
