Guys,
Is there official UK car insurance database where all information about my previous claims, accidents and insurance history is held? I found this, but on their webpage it says "53 insurers, 26 other authorised members and 5 Associate members". I`m sure there are many more insurance companies in UK, where rest of them keep their records?

Why would they reveal the full extent of their fraud detection systems?
You need to be honest.
If you aren't honest you risk having a claim turned down.
If you are planning on being honest, then why do you need to know about how they detect fraud?
I wouldn't expect them to reveal it completely.0 -
You probably posted your answer to wrong question from another discussion. I want to know all information which is held about ME.0

oh, Sorry I thought you were asking whether insurers could find information about YOU.
I don't know anywhere you can find it.
You need to keep your own records/paperwork or phone the insurers you were using at the time to get the data.0 -
The link you posted tells you how to get the info out of CUE for a fee of £10 (common for Data protection requests).
All major insurers subscribe to CUE. Those that do not will be concerned with commercial motor only and so have no use for the data held.
53 insurers sounds about right.
The full list is here - http://www.cueuk.org/media/2674/cue%20subscribers.pdf
ommisions such as Sheila's Wheels will be under the parent company - Esure.0 -

Rob, the CUE details are pretty basic.
You have rights under the data protection act, to request full details of what information is held on you by Insurers, by making a subject access request, which costs a max of £10 to cover admin costs.
If you have a particular issue with an Insurer about what information they have shared, then you can make a request to them.
Similarly you can make a request to CUE if you wished to do so.
There is no central database which shows which company or organisation holds information on you. Even if there were, you would have to make a separate subject access request to each company or organisation. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
So, then if I had registred accidents and claims on my name, then they all will be on CUE report for 10£?0

In theory as most personal car Insurers use CUE, if you made a subject access request to them, then this should provide the info you are looking for.The comments I post are personal opinion. 53 companies seem to be far too small number  There must be many more insurance companies in whole UK, not just 53 :think:0 -
No - its about right. As I mentioned above, some firms are trading names used by larger firms, e.g. More Than = RSA, Sheila's Wheels = Esure.
Also, many firms are brokers, AA, Budget Group (Post Office Insurance) and Swintons. They are simply placing the business with an insurance carrier who will be on the CUE list.0 -
Are you confusing brokers with insurers?0
