Opinions please - Refund or Overreacting?

I’d really appreciate people’s opinions on this - what would you think / do in this situation?
Less than two weeks ago we bought a mini oven from a well known high street shop for about £60. All we have cooked in it is cheese on toast (three times) and potato wedges (once). The toast was on the grill shelf, so some cheese obviously dripped down onto the baking tray - the wedges were cooked on the baking tray.
After use each time, the backing tray and grill shelf have been cleaned according to the instructions (either hand washed or through the dishwasher) but I am not happy with the state of the baking tray (the rest of it is fine). To me, it now looks like an old baking tray that has been in an oven hundreds of times and never been cleaned properly in-between uses. I have some cheap Asda baking trays that have been in the main oven lots of time and look brand new so I cannot understand why this one has tarnished so easily.
I don’t want to eat anything that has been on this tray now but it is designed to sit on the ‘rungs’ on the oven’s sides (iyswim) so the alternatives are limited:

Use foil (wasteful)
Buy a smaller, better quality baking tray to sit on top of the original one (less room for food)
Is this reason enough to ask for a refund or should I just accept it? Buy a smaller, better quality baking tray to sit on top of the original one (less room for food)

You could try emailling the company about the problem and see if they'll give you another baking tray?
If they say no, I'd agree with the posters above and accept it.
btw side note. Is oven pride really as good as the adverts? Never used it before but my baking trays get really dirty and i find it difficult to get the dirt off sometimes!0 -

I would ask for a replacement. As it is only two weeks old I would expect it still to look pretty new. Take the tray back to the shop you bought it from, it should be a straight forward swap.:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

I dont see why you should just accept it.
Contact the company you bought it from and explain situation to them. It may well be that they say its definately not supposed to do that and give you a replacement but after 2 weeks and only a few times used you are completely within your rights to at least query it with them. I wouldnt want to eat off of it either if it looks manky after only a few times used.:smileyhea0 -
