Assuming Windows 200/XP, the easiest way to reassign drive letters is as follows:
Start>Settings>Contol Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management
Expand Storage and click on Disk Management. You should see all your drives, now right click on the drive you wish to change and select Change Drive letter and Path from the context menu.0 -
"windows cannot modify the drive letter of your system volume or boot volume"
im logged in as administrator.
and its XP professional if that helps :-)0 -
you would need another hard drive and another copy of xp to modify the drive letters as it cant do it while windows is running on the f drive otherwise the computer would crash because it wouldnt know what hd its using0

It isnt possible to change the drive letter of the system drive. The only way is to reinstall the operating system again.
It isnt really a problem as long as when you remember that someone says copy this t drive c yours is drive f0 -
Yeah i know its more of an annoying little thing rather than anything serious :-D
thank you anyway guys!0 -
I've had this problem myself, the only way around it is install from scratch making sure you create the system partition first after deleting the old one, it should in theory show that it's designated c: at that point before it installs windows on it."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
