  • Contractually, I guess you're stuck with them.

However, haven't they also increased their charges as of mid-Feb or so? If they have, you may still have a right to cancel on that ground. Would by now probably have to act quick though.
  • thanks for advice. will call them and give it a go

Actually, you're not stuck with them.

They will have a policy on poor speeds and how to prove it. When I was with Virgin, they said I had to get speedtests from their regulated site (which I think was the BT one) at various points of the day (I had about 60 from www.speedtest.net). Only problem was my connection was so poor, it wouldn't even register a connection on there.
I told this, sent them DOS screen prints and a CSV export from the above website. In the end, they accepted this and I moved to Tiscali (which is now TalkTalk). I went from 400kbps max to an average around 6mbps. I live down the road from my exchange so I knew it was their fault.

You'll have to follow everything on here - http://broadband.talktalk.co.uk/help/questions/TEC_02_43

Once done and you still get poor connection, tell them you're leaving because they can not offer you the service you are paying for and it is not a problem with the physical line connection. There is a lot of media hype about this so follow the rules and you'll be fine.

And yes, prices went up (anytime calls to 01/02/03 numbers, land line fee and 8mb unlimted BB went from £19.99 to £22.48) due to the "digital revolution"...but I think it is still a fair price.
  • hello all,

My phone is currently with talk talk. I have contacted them in mid nov 2009. I got the phone service with them after a one month wait but not the broadband(i actually signed up for both).

So after testing my patience I contacted ORANGE in Feb,2010 (after waiting for so long) for a broadband & they provided me the service within 5 days.(it up & running with no hidden charges)

Now, I want to get rid of TALK TALK coz of there crap service i don't want to go round & round. I register online to cut the paper bill cost....to my surprise, my online account with Talk talk not working:mad: & no one know why? I am totally stuck....can anyone help me out please.
