PPI newbie questions!

Hi guys, looking for some advice and hoped you could help!
I've currently got a secure loan with FirstPlus and want to claim back the ppi, however I originally signed up through FreedomFinance (the brokers) so was wondering to whom do i direct my claim at and is it neccessary to send a SAR first?
Secondly I payed off a secure loan back in 2006 with Endeavour personal finance (part of HSBC) but they have now ceased trading, I was thinking of just getting a claims specialist to sort this one out as all i have is the old account number and I'm sure this one went through a broker also....has anyone used one of these "claims specialists" before or should I stay away, I don't mind paying commission on this one as I haven't a clue where to begin with it!
Sorry for rambling on but any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, Rich

Hi, you would go to the broker that sold the PPI to you so that would be Freedom. You would not necessarily need the sar if you know your reasons for reclaiming already and have the account number. What year was the Freedom Loan taken out?richie75martin wrote: »Hi guys, looking for some advice and hoped you could help!

As regards the other one that was taken in 2006 if the firm has ceased to trade then this would be a complaint to the FSCS. I cannot see them on the data base though but worth giving them a ring first maybe to ask.
