  • if you head off south to catch the plane. Nicer than Goa, just south in Karnatical is Gokana they have Ohm beach and Cootle beach. Basic and cheap seem to be the only options but lovely for some chilling out. I would go to Cochin as suggested, Hampi is nice, lots of temples and unique landscape. We also really enjoyed the Ooty train (a steep steam train, it has been on BBC lately, Indian Hill Railways) it should be nice and cool up there. Not sure of the season though, you will have to look it up.

Also say visit Indiamike, loads of info on there.

Hyderabad is fascinating. Just use common sense to avoid the trouble, and it won't affect you.

In general the hassles and rip-offs are worse in the north than in the south, and at their very worst in Agra. I suggest a quick trip to see the Taj Mahal, and then leave immediately.

I fly to New Delhi on June 11th, from there i travel down to Agra and then fly to Andhra Pradesh where my children will be spending a few days at a village school.

On 22nd June i have to be in Mumbai, and then on 1st July i have a flight out to Kuala Lumpur from Trivandrum.

    The question is:

What can i do between 19 - 22nd June, maybe take the train to Mumbai is it worth it? What about Hydarabad? Or maybe get a train to the East coast and then fly to Mumbai?

Then what can i do between 22nd June - 1st July, given that i have to be in Trivandrum on 30th June. Travel down the West cost maybe?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, that sounds like what i had in mind, can you suggest any places worth stopping?
Generally i prefer 'real' places. You know, off the beaten path. I cringe when i imagine a beach in Goa filled with Chavs and empty cans of Carling.

You'll be hard pressed to find any chavs in Goa during June as the package tourist season winds up at the end of April.

Banned on TA for suggesting somone disregards the amount they can bring into the country.
My signature was removed because it was a link to vote for my family, we have been nominated as Britains most Adventurous family due to the amount of travel my kids and i have done.
I am a very experienced traveller and there is only Australasia and the Antarctic where i have never been. I have time because i take my notebook - I am posting this right now from the Amsterdam Hilton, shortly ill have a shower and head out for an evening cruise along the canals.
In terms of India i will be taking my notebook and it will come with me from there to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma, East Timor and then to the USA where i will be calling off in Florida (for the umpteenth time) It will all be blogged including photo's and invaluble advice since a huge portion of the trip will be done via land. It will be my second such trip and the first one was blogged - which led to me being voted for BMAF and has also led to being on BBC Radio and in my Regional Newspaper.
I can do all this because i work for an amazing employer who kindly gave me a 12months Sabbattical - Here is the best part, it didn't all have to be taken at once! I also travel an awful lot for work and rarely does a month go by when i am not somehwhere outside of the UK.

I am very fortunate and i recognise that. That is why i try and help out on here when i can, i know i have a strange sense of humour which often is taken wrongly as an insult. Those who know me know there is never any malice in what i write. Sadly i feel people like you will always try and find some sort of dink in my armour. Which is odd, since the other day i thanked about 50 of your posts in re3cognition of what you give to this board- Your response - You took it as an insult and reported me.

Since i am not allowed to post my blog or links to it on here, if you want it PM me.

Mr L - Not meant as a dig - just pointing out how well travelled you are as there is some good info in your posts. Sorry if seemed like I was complaining.

I AM surprized after all the time you spend travelling and posting that you have ANY time left to do anything.

I complained because of your personal remark about me. Not your information or posting.

Free Advice - dont mention Banned from TA or removal of signature here on MSE - It can make you look bad and it's no one's business really but yours.

    Appologies again if sounded rude.

In all honesty, your posts sounded rude because they were rude and I don't see how they could be interpreted any other way.

But hey ho, you've said sorry now so what's done is done. :)
