Do anyone here have their children go to a Drama Club?
My son is interested in this.
A couple of his friends are in a local club.
A new term starts after Easter at £ 65.00 per term. Sounds reasonable.:)

Wow £65 a term!!
I feel bad about charging my brownies £22 a term!2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -
Is it a Youth theatre group run though the local theatre? If so that price sounds very reasonable. The one here charges £122. per term. Has your child done any drama, dance, performing classes before as its a big leap from nothing into a full theatre group (I have been into drama since starting my first dance group at the age of 2 up to the age of 21 when I finished performing arts at college).
My eldest goes to the locally run theatre groups it doesnt cost anywhere near that price. They meet every Sunday afternoon from 2-4 and obviously meet more when they are in the run up to a show. They put on 2 shows a year (both from the community centre) and he has come on in leaps confidence wise since he started. I would recomend it...but shop around first and see what you are getting for your money**"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."**0 -

It's run by the local Theatre group. This group is for 5-8 year olds, the next group is for 8 - 15's.
He has not done any drama really, only the school plays. We do a bit of role play and improvising at home together, sometimes.
Posting on here is one way for me to gauge a response as to the price of this club.
Maybe I will try and see what else is about.
Thanks for the reply.:)0 -
Sounds v. reasonable to me. I used to go to a drama club on a Saturday and it was £95 per term (im going back about 8/9 years now as well). I loved it and it's a great way for building confidence as I was quite shy as a child.
My cousin went with me and ended up getting a small part in a one off tv drama which was fab for her!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
I'm a great fan of drama for children. It gives them poise, self-confidence and experience of working as a crucial member of a team. The fee sounds very reasonable.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Both my children go to drama. It's a local class but part of the Helen 'O Grady Academy which I believe is a national company. DS 7 has gone for 2 years and DD5 has just started but they both love it and it has certainly helped their confidence. The cost is £72 per term but there is a discount for the 2 of them.'And our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears'0
