Heres what I received from the Beauty Bible

On a whim a couple of weeks ago I answered an email from The Beauty Bible to be one of there testers for an anti ageing trial they are doing, it wasn't free, I paid £30 with the promise of over £100 worth of products to be sent to me and I had to agree to fill out surveys on each of the products a few weeks after using them. I thought some of you might be interested to know what I received this morning:)

Clarins Sun care spray oil free lotion SPF 15
Clarins Super Resorative Total eye concentrate
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide plump effect
Vie Over Time Restorative Night Cream
Age Defy Serum (never heard of this)
He-shi facial tanning gel
Liz Earle energising hip and thigh gel
Sally Hansen 18 Hour protective hand creme
A la carte cosmetics bare blush in Angel
Tweezerman eyelash curlers

All are full size and in normal branded packaging. I'm really pleased with my haul:DThe only thing concerning me is if any of the facial creams/serum contains mineral oil, can some please enlighten me on the various names for this product, does anyone have any other comments? Or has anyone used any of these products?
Thank you for this site Martin

The Elizabeth Arden product is a foundation not a cream as I thought, OH is trying to steal my eye cream:rotfl:and dds not even back form school yet, she'll have a fit I'll have to hide the blusher:D

That’s a good haul – I took part for the first time last year and most of the stuff I got was a complete load of rubbish! Mostly supermarket brands that were totally unsuitable for my skin and some brands I’d never heard of.

I think the package was probably worth about £80 but I ended up giving most of the stuff away in the end as it wasn’t any good to me or didn't react well on my skin.

  • Be prepared if taking part because it works out great for some people but ive known of others that get £70 worth of things that they dont like. My friend got a nice pack but my sister has had a useless one twice, things that are too dark or not her colour and alot of sainsburys own products. Jem

Same here. I found it a waste of money. I got four very cheap products and four of the expensive products were completely unsuitable for me. They were so unsuitable that I struggled to write the reviews. I don't think I got my £30 worth.

I got a load of rubbish also, along with a note saying they were trying cheaper brands because of the recession (but still the same fee). I don't think they looked at the profile I had completed!
    Gone ... or have I?

Its good to hear the different stories, I did this once before and again got a good haul but decided not to do it anymore as I had got a grip on my skin and didnt want to upset it, however they approached me and I was very specific in the reply with what I didnt want and after researching all the products they do seem to of listened, just got lucky I guess:)

I too was very specific in my profile and still got totally unsuitable stuff. I understand that they just cannot match everything up perfectly, but a lot of the stuff I sent was the exact opposite to what I needed! E.g. I have fine, straight oily hair and they sent hair products for dehydrated, curly hair. I only used a teeny tiny amount, but my hair still ended up so weighed down and greasy I had to wash my hair again immediately with clarifying shampoo. That's why I found the reviews so hard in that I didn't want to put, "oh, I'm sure this would be great for dry hair" when I don't know if it would, but equally I felt I was being unfair to the product to slag it off.

I am also doing the Beauty Bible trial and have received completely different products from you. I don't think I would have chosen any of them but for the £30 I paid I think it is worth it. There are two things for age spots and a 'miracle cream' moisturiser which I am hoping will work lol! I also got face oil, hand cream, body cream, and a few other things. Only one thing that was useless which was a glitter eye liner.
