How to invest £10k, JOINT account, hassle free??

My wife and I have received a £10k windfall.
We want to lock this away, it has to be in a Joint account and we don't want hassle of managing anything...
I have thought about a long term savings account - stick the lump sum in there and watch it grow...any good ones out there?
Or, put it into premium bonds...
What else can be done with it?

Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!
