WEll I switched about a month ago to FU after advice on MSE and just got my first few bill's in after being with British gas for the last 10 years.
In just over 1 month I used nearly £200 worth of Gas!!! plus there is a standing charge or £25 per month on top of that, WOW I never paid that with British gas, am I loosing it or what but that seems extremely expensive.
I did get a free case of wine tho
I'm in the south west region (west London) and find the rates sooo confusing, can anyone advise what to do? I thought this was supposed to be the cheapest one around...or maybe it's just it was the coldest month on record? our heating has been on 24 hrs a day.

I don't think MSE has advised anyone to go with a certain energy supplier ... not unless they have been provided details of the customer's annual consumption and location.
The general advice of MSE is to use the comparison sites to find the best deal.
What is your annual consumption in kWh and your supply location (or better still first part of your post code) please?
(The South West region is not exactly the same as West London - the South Western region is approximatly that area to the south west of a line from Bristol to the southern coast, the area approximately from Dorset to Reading to Brighton is the Southern region - and London is a supply region of it's own, though very small)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
