having down loaded this a an upgrade to window messanger 4.7 i find that i cannot log in to it so have to revert back to using ny old and inferior version.
Anyone else haveing problems or have a solution

I had some problems as well, after I installed it I lost most of my contacts (msn said they had connection problems)

I was reassured when I logged to http://webmessenger.msn.com
and found out that my contact list is fine.

now it's working fine on msn 8.0 as well

It's !!!!!!ed up all of my contacts. I can see them listed, but for some reason it's telling me they aren't online, when i know for a fact that they are.

I'm not impressed. Should've stuck with the old one.

I had big problems with MSN. It totally froze my pc. I uninstalled then reinstalled but still wouldn't work. I got skype in the end, love it and wouldn't go back to MSN.

a friend of mine is having the exact same problem.

you'll just have to wait a few days... this seems to be a common problem so if you hang in for a few days msn will probably release a patch or soemthing to fix it.

all in all live messenger is good, i've been using it since the first beta release and have just upgraded it (again) and haven't had any problems.

Dont be discourages to try out the new version because it seems that only a few people are having problems, and as i said, these will most likely be fixed within the next couple of days.

I lost my contacts for a while but they have all come back now (maybe I was just unpopular for a few hours:D ) but.............and its a very annoying but.............. I have lost all and I mean ALL of my smilies I have downloaded over the years and am now back to the MSN boring standard ones:mad: :mad: :mad: .

anyone got any ideas on this one?:o

this shouldnt have happened if you just did an upgrade (certainly didnt when i did it)

the only time this happens normally is when you remove MSN messenger or you reinstall windows. Unlike contacts, the custom smileys are installed on your computer NOT on your account.

Just did an upgrade Lord_chris so dunno why that happened. Wish I hadnt bothered to be honest it doesnt seem in any way any better:mad: and I have lost some great smilies:eek:

lol, well if your contacts have them get them to put them up and add them again.

it wont take you long to replace the ones you use... and if its going to take you that long, then maybe you have wayyyyy too many smilies.
