Does anyone have any experience or words of warning about the above tarriff?

With thanks in advance.

PS Please don't tell me I can get cheaper elsewhere or that another supplier is better. Last time we moved home we spent hours and hours doing research and comparisons, went with EOn and ended up with ever-increasing monthly direct debits, so are looking forward to knowing how much we use and exactly what we're paying for rather than estimates.

  • I joined up in January, have had one bill and so far so good. After receiving the meter, I did spend two days running round the house like a mad fool trying to work out what was using the electric each time I saw the meter move, but don't worry overly about it now. The meter has however kept our minds on trying to keep below a certain consumption level, and on average we are managing this and have managed to knock 3kw a day off the electricity consumption without going to extremes. (There are four adults in the house, two of which are there during the day, so the gas/electric is used pretty much constantly).

I went for this purely to get monthly bills rather than quarterly as I thought this would be better for me and my budgeting (I opted for the variable DD so it's paid up each month), and I like the fact that I can give my own meter readings (which I round up) rather than hoping that the meter reader will bother to knock on the door.

I signed up for it a couple of months ago and have been very happy. I am staying with a fixed monthly Direct Debit but by seeing my consumption monthly it keeps me in control - especially for the last 2 cold months.

I just hope when my fixed tariff comes to an end that I can stay on it regardless of which tariff I go on to. The only downpoint at the moment is it cannot be used with every tariff.
