I completely agree. Some people are the marketing teams dream. I see that you can buy another speaker for it. How quaint.

Some people bought the radio because of the sound quality, the excellent review in What Hi-Fi (I think it was), the improved reception over competitors... How sensible! Instead of critising how about up with better value for money alternatives?

Edit : I bought mine because I listen to TalkSport which had awful reception on MW. It is great on DAB - and no point in having it in stereo as it is a talk program.

Whoops sorry I did not realise that only people who like a product are allowed an opinion.

I see you claim "It was designed with an old fashioned style" I have never seen anything from the past that looks remotely like it. It just looks like a wooden box with a drawer handle on top. I cannot see any style in it.

With almost all portable radios there is little point in having two speakers anyway because to get true stereo you need to have your speakers a suitable distance apart relative to your listening position.

    Listening *distance* methinks.

If you are very close to the radio (eg if it's on a cabinet behind you if you're in the bath), then at just a couple of feet, you'll hear stereo. From 20 ft away you might have a bit of difficulty discerning it!

If you shake your head quickly from side to side you will not only get a stereo effect but also give your neck muscles a workout. Do these radios have programmes in colour or is it only black and white ?

I was simply asking in what way you thought the radio was dated. If, has been stated, it has not style, then surely it cannot be dated. I presume you mean technologically?

I do not claim to be an audiophile... but I do have the radio, compared it with other DAB radios available at the time and chose Pure. You say it 'was a decent radio'. Seriously - I would be interested to know what you consider to be better DAB radios now available in this price bracket.

Children please - it's nice of someone to bother to post in the first place - premium brand, tat or whatever else it is they've found.

It's only a click for you to have a look and only an additional click to thank someone. It's the nasty people who try and overcharge us we're supposed to be overcoming.
