1. do you have a solicitor for your fee - Both a solicitor and his assistant work on my behalf
2. if it one and the same person alwyas acting thrughout -I cannot contact the solicitor directly but I can speak to his assistant, and Ive been given one person to contact.
3. can you call in and get through to your conveyancer? Yes, they have provided a telephone number and email address, I've only called once and i got straight through.
So far like I've said I cannot fault them!

You also need a solicitor who can talk to you in plain english rather than all that legal jargon that doesn't make any sense!! And also someone who responds to you when you call or email - theres nothing worse than not knowing what is going on and trying to chase your solicitors if you cannot get hold of them...Sealed Pot Challenge Member #881

Also bear in mind it is NOT just the firm but the quality can vary dramatically from person to person in that firm. I have found the senior partner, when allocated to me, to be very hard to get hold of but just one of the normal solicitors usually always to hand.0

To be fair, whilst you can rate them on service standards and so on, you wouldn't have the knowledge to know whether they have missed something in the documents. Or whether they have asked the other party unnecessary questions, thus holding matters up.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Or failed to ask the right questions ....No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

you can tell a lot by how they answer the phone to you. If they promise to get back to you quickly with a quote for how much it will cost and they don't, then rule them out the list.
if you're after someone who can work to deadlines then look for one who advertises for auction work.0
