Does anyone use this? I have used it and have loads of accounts on it, however this morning my Natwest banking was blocked, when I phoned up they say some kind of automated software has added a payee and so they blocked me for my protection.
They said it's a virus (zbot) on my PC (which I was pretty sure it wasn't). I've now ran a number of spyware and virus checks and nothing shows up, as I expected. I've also read the manual removal instructions for zbot and the process mentioned isn't even running, and other files it says to remove don't exist, so I'm thinking my PC was fine all along....
This leads me to think it's this, as I don't use banking etc at uni. Has anyone else got experience with this? I've always found it useful, but I don't know if this has triggered it - either through a false alert as it's automated and may have clicked the wrong things etc, or whether the people behind it are fraudulant in some way. Natwest say they'll send me a letter basically detailing what was said on the phone, so will look at the wording in that closely when it gets here too

^Have to say, have never heard of it.

Thanks, I did see it mentioned somewhere and I checked up as much as I could and it seems secure (the info is apparently only stored on my PC, hence the applet to install & load etc), but I can only think Natwest blocking me has something to do with this, as I've ran even more scans on my pc and there is nothing showing, and the resident scanners in the background haven't picked anything up either
But then it seems odd it's only happened after all this time, and that only Natwest has blocked me claiming something dodgy is going on - all my other accounts seem fine0 -
I still have no idea what it is (Lol); just make sure your anti-virus and anti-malware programs are up-to-date and that your firewall is on.0

It's basically automated software that you give all your details to and it logs you in automatically to the sites and displays balances etc. That obviously sounds unsecure, but the details are (apparently) only stored on my computer so they should never see them, but it seems strange this has happened....
^It certainly does sound insecure as you rightly point out:shocked: Not sure why anyone would wish to use but rather you than me IMO.0 -

Whoaaaa....
I don't store any details even passwords on my computer, is paranoid0 -
Haha yea I understand both of your concerns! That's why I checked about the applet etc before using it. I know from doing Computing that it's certainly possible not to pass my details back to them, and I've been using it for months and had no problems - but I also know it's possible for them to still be gathering stuff even though it says they aren't, or for them to turn "bad" overnight.....
There are some threads on it (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=22327 & http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=343552) but they are too old to drag up to see if anyone else has had problems
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3941778&postcount=7 seems to suggest it's genuine. I'm going to wait for this letter to arrive, because I still can't work out how Natwest decided I've got a virus which I clearly haven't got as I wasn't sure if the payee was added (she said tried to add, then another said "added"), if the letter isn't clear I might phone again and ask them.... It could just be another reason and nothing to do with ewise at all...0
