Only just heard of ewise and have been happily using Egg MM for a year now.
Are there any benefits using ewise over Egg MM? Contacted egg and apparently you can carry on using EMM after youve closed any/all accounts you have with them so is there any point sigining up to ewise at all?

Isn't ewise the company that provides the Egg Money Manager service?
Are they offering a seperate service now? If so, do you have a link to their site?0 -
They are also the people behind First Direct Internet Banking Plus. You don't need a FD account to sign up.
My only winge is that they are a bit slow in adding new accounts (e.g. no Icesave, N&P credit card)Ethical moneysaver0 -
Where can you sign up for this service, or is it provided through participating banks?0

Thank you.

1) They are independant from the other companies they supply the software to. So, if (e.g.) Egg's site goes down 'for maintenance' they (and your other accounts) are still accessable. I've yet to see AccountUnity to be inaccessable.
2) They allow you to store your profile on removable media. This 1) allows you to store your details in one place (USB pen e.g.) and access it from any PC you happen to be near instead of repeatedly entering details of all PC's you have access to and 2) allows you *not* to store it on a PC others have access to.
3) Of all the institutions that use the software, AccountUnity is likely to be the first to update with new institutions.
I've been using them for ages (over 2 years I think) and have never had a major problem with them.[1] In fact I'm in the position now where (unfortunately) I rely on them solely to get access to my accounts - I've forgotten the logins to most of the banks I'm with
[1] as noted above the only problem I do have with them is the length of time it takes them to add new institutions - it took them a few months to add ICICI for example.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Have you guys checked with your banks to make sure your covered against fraud if something happens? I bank with smile and HSBC and they said that if I used Egg or another programme that saves the passwords and there is fraud on my account they wont cover me as I've "given permission for a third party to have/store my passwords".0
