    Thanks Wanton - sure, though curtain and light fittings are ok....Inland Revenue have their own examples on their website of what you can separately value and avoid paying SDLT on.

    You have to value them correctly though, you can't charge £1,000 for a pair of curtains from Argos in an attempt to avoid stamp duty.

    So you were actually referring to fixtures and fittings when you mentioned fees earlier ....?

    Yes, you're right. Just to add though, you would have to instruct them yourself and sign a contract with the fee clearly laid out. You wouldn't accidentally stumble across a buying agent. :)
