Adsa - approval sought twice on CC machine - watch out !

Probably only noticeable to those who can see pending transactions online and perhaps pre paid card holders more than post paid but watch out for Asda (and perhaps others) who ask for (and get) approval twice (or even more) when their machines fail to work and process the transaction first time.
It happened to me yesterday when their machine failed to recognise my PIN and we had to start again. Yet, quite unbelievably, Asda have taken authorisation for the amount twice.
Now had I only say £15 on a pre paid account and the bill was £10, then I would not have been able to pay for the goods. This may seem small beer but I don't think it is. If the system fails, then there should be no approval of the funds until the PIN is verified.
I know it will come back but that is not the point. For some days, that money is not available to me because Asda made a mistake.
