sounds quite cheap for scottish gas .

you should be able to get it done for around £1000 less i would guess.

i like the boiler although it is the cheaper end of the boiler range from worcester bosch.

best practice they would have quoted you for a powerflush as well as its only about £200 more on the cost of a new boiler.

  • The complimentary homecare is worthless, you are entitled to a one year warranty as an absolute minimum. Very likely for a flat a 24kw boiler would suffice.

I would look at the Potterton Promax Gold 24 kw, highly rated by Which and the winner for 2 years running.

    Hi

I have just had a Greenstar junior 28i, they took out the old standalone boiler, water tank, immersion heater etc and fitted a new radiator in the airing cupboard, also supplied and fitted the magnaclean filter, new 22mm copper gas supply piping for a ten metre run, replaced two radiators which had problems with the bleed screws and showing signs of rusting, wireless programmer, everything up and running fitted to an outside wall etc for £2320 plus took everything away, very pleased.

I put the job up on a couple of sites like mybuilder with specific details of what I wanted supplying and what needed doing, then after receiving the quotes and a couple of firms who wanted to check details, I then looked into the firms and followed up a couple of references, checked credentials and dealt with a local company, only a one man band, but very good and spoke to two previous customers before agreeing the work and printed out the job so he knew and I knew what we agreed.

The 24kw does'nt give a very good flow rate for the hot water.
If it was my house or flat i would go for a 28kw as a min.
