3 cheers to sony

had a sensor fault on a sony camera bought in 2004
and it was repaired free as it was a 'known fault' with certain models.

always worth checking if faults fall into the 'known' category when deciding what to do.

service was good too (freepost to them, options available if fault not theirs etc.)

That's interesting - my TV model has a fault that has been documented as affecting 68 TVs in a batch manufactured in a 7 month slot in 2007. (and that's just on one forum)

Any of them that mentioned it to Sony were told 'Really? No, we haven't had any unusual problems with that model'

    :rotfl:
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

    that's so true fay
but if they have recognised it then it can save you the bother of an expensive
    repair so worth checkiing.

(i've been on the other side too with a known car fault once...costly and infuriating.)
