Help! Cold call from galaxy finance for an iva -!!!! ????????

:eek::eek: Hi peoples, this is my first post and i hope i've it in the right thread..

anyway I was hoping if anyone has ever heard of or had dealings with a company called Galaxy Finance. As I received a cold call from one of their reps offering me an IVA....! According to his script their company is working with the UK government and FSA to increase the public’s knowledge of IVAs.

I would be lying if I said my B-S radar wasn’t going nuts at this point... any how they never actually asked for any personal information and in fact I was surprised at the information they had about me i.e. Name, Address, Telephone number... I did ask where they got my details from is I have never nor would ever give my personal details out to cold callers. All I was told was that my information had been bought on the open market. (If I thought for 2 seconds companies would pay me for my details id quit work and retire in 6 months loaded lol)

Anyway after confirming I was Mr Bond and providing them sum spurious amounts for my debt they were keen to pass me to another adviser would could talk me through the IVA process and tell me my saving. OKOK I didn’t complete the call & I did hang up but NO wasn’t in their vocabulary...

Sooo if anyone has heard of this company or any info regarding them, or should I be concerned about someone tryin to nic my ID or anything please let me know. By the by I’ve googled the company name within an inch of my life & didn’t get anywhere.

I have had phone calls from this Galaxy Finance in the past and although I was happy to listen to what they had to say (Must have been nothing on the telly! ) I was never going to get involved with them.

Anyway, after not hearing from them for a few months, I have been bombarded with calls from them for the last week. I would say 6-7 calls in the last few days!! They are clearly ringing from an overseas (India?) call-centre and clearly do not understand some English words - like NO THANK YOU!

I have asked them on each of the last 4 calls to please remove my name from their list, as I have no intention of doing business with them. Having now said this 4 times and still got calls, I told the last one (2nd call in about half hour this afternoon!) that I would not deal with them if they were the last company left in the world! If they can't even remove a name from their 'mugs lists' how would they be capable of helping you with financial problems?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS would be my advice.

ANYONE cold calling for this kind of thing is a robbing money grabbing cowboy. Swear profusely at them along these lines and hang up

They are and will be full of c**p, all they want is your money
