Hotel, holiday camp, what sort of equipment do you need while away - hoists or can he weight bear, what bathroom adaptations, that sort of info might help. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Silly suggestion, but Premier Inn have disabled rooms in all their premises, plus they are always right next door to a Beefeater or similar and they are always wheelchair friendly, so it's easy to get a cheap evening meal. Most have wireless internet (at a fee) too so you can stay up to date on e-mails if you want. I believe their £29 a room sale is still on but haven't checked.
My family and I had a week off where we went from place to place using this system a couple of years ago. It meant that we were not stuck following someone elses itinerary and we could go where we liked when we liked and saw more than just one area.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

I keep hearing about the Bond Hotel in Blackpool , Ithink its purely for the disabled plus families and friends. It is always in the local paper for winning awards.

Cullet, do you have a certain area(s) in mind for the holiday?
If so, you could contact the Tourist Information Centre(s) and ask them to send you out brochures which are aimed at disabled travellers, in the local & surrounding areas.
I was looking to book a weekend break for my Mum & Dad a few years ago (Dad's in a wheelchair) and this is what I did. The brochures were fab, they included everything from accommodation, to days out, to a list of parking spaces/toilets etc for disabled.
Might be worth a wee try.0 -
Hi Cullet
A couple of years ago we went to the West Shore Hotel in Llandudno.
It wasn't cheap, by any means, but was completely disabled/wheelchair friendly, and very pleasant.
I think it's part of a chain that caters for people with disabilities *nips off to look in "holidays" file* Yes, here we are - Grooms Holidays, aka Grooms-Shaftesbury. A bit of poking about online tells me they've been rebranded as Livability.
I also found a website that might be of help.
