Rant ignore just haveing a vent

Trying to find a property for next student year is a such a pain. I'm currently living with 4 other people two of which were a couple now there not. The lad is currently an ex student currently on DDS, who won't commit to what he's doing plus finding a landlord willing to take him would be pain. Its a bit harsh but sometime you've got to look after yourself

So I said I'll live with his ex which cool as were friend too she nice gonna do postgraduate next year and has a job so fincaly is fine

Two other of my house mates finish uni this year. One is defo leaving as she going to do a pgce. The other ones not sure as it depends on whether his dissertation supervisor will have a job next year for him to carry on a do a post grad. It's starting to get late looking for a house and I don't even know how many people to look for.

I went to look at house for three last night, house was bit tatty but no more so than your average student let, no mould up the walls or major horrors.

Gave the land lady a ring but other parties are interested, but just in case they fall though she asked us to write in telling her about us, ie our interests what were studying etc, which is a bit odd but I understand that she just wants to get to know who she letting out to, make sure were not a bunch of idols who are going to destroy her property and a note from our parents saying that they'll pay the rent in case we don't. But its a faff when I don't even know if we'll be able to have the place.

Now all this would be solved if I could live with two lads from next door that I've known for years there reliable nice guys which was the original plan , but along came an attachment in the form of one of there "GF" who is a filysm and unreliable. He's a smart lady doing a electrical engineering, but has no common sense otherwise he's run a mile she's already cheated on him several times.

She also been a pain to pay rent to current landlord, Spends all her student loan with days of receiving it on nothing I think she hasn't paid any this year and only just paid the 3 months from last year bailed out by her parents. Also I would feel bad to subject her to a landlord never mind the legal complications.

All this would be sorted if she wasn't here sounds mean we could quite easyly find a 4 bed house and be sorted instead it look like we may be looking for a two bed.

  • Go for a two bed - easy , simple and a lot less stress. If she has not paid numerous times, its unlikely she will change much. Plus I find two bed student accomadation are better standard than most 4 / 5 beds. At least with two you have peace and quiet, and can just split bills in half. I know what you mean though, student housing search is stressfull!

The problem is finding a two bed. I'm at small city uni accommodation is very short.

I'm not going live with her. I would feel bad subjecting any landlord to her behaviour. Well actually that's lie an old landlord would be welcome to her.
  • How about moving back into uni accomadation? I dont know about yours, my uni has Unite studio apartments which sound great though probably are a bit costly.
