Chances of it having been a mistake are slim, but I will take your advice and play dumb about it!

We get a break on shifts 7 hours or more, but we mainly work 5/6 hour shifts, and since starting uni I havn't worked anything long enough to get a break.

I do agree the way they act is unfair. I get annoyed myself when I'm the only one on shift pulling any weight and shaving their wages isn't the right way to go about it, but hey, I'm just a waitress!

Thank you both for your advice, I spoke to my manager and arranged to talk to him on saturday so I'll let you know how I get on!

Great to hear you are going to talk to him, yes I would play dumb, you also said 3 managers are involved in timesheets, could be this one isn't one of them and might sort it out for you. Even if he is involved it gives him a chance to say it was a mistake (even if it wasn't), if not he will have to give an explanation.
Yes please do let us know how you get on, will check back here after Saturday to see. Hope we have helped a little.
    Good luck Abbza:)

Didn't manage to speak to him on Saturday but caught him Sunday and politely explained that my wages were down by 5 hours this month and 7 hours last month? He looked really shocked (but slightly guilty!) and apologised profusely, said it was probably where they called me in when someone else was sick and hadn't put it into the computer, and that my extra 12 hours will go in next months wages.

So now to wait until March 26th to see if the gets this one right :)

Thank you for all your help!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Good for you! See it was worth asking. I hope they follow this through.
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

:j:jWell done Abbza:T :T:TIt isn't always easy to speak to managers in difficult situations like this but well worth doing. Looks like you will get your lost hours paid now and they might be a bit more careful in future now that they know you are checking your payslips.

Hope all is ok on 26th March payslip for you. Sounds to me like they will sort it out but come back if you are still having problems :)
