Nationwide

I wrote to Nationwide to reclaim credit card charges, after 14 days there was no response so I sent second letter threatening court action, it's now been a further 14 days and I've still had no response. Is anyone else currently chasing Nationwide for charges and if so what has the outcome been?

Well now it's down to you.

Are you prepared to carry out the threat you have made, or are you prepared for the Nationwide to mark this one up as simply another idle threat?

I'm sure with all the claims being made for both credit card charges and bank charges, the respective financial institutions are well aware of consumer campaigns on the web, especially Martin's latest advice
...telling the bank you are planning court action doesn’t require you to follow through with it....

To use a phrase that an old manager of mine often used:

" It's now time to I]deficate[/I or get off the pot!"
"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 2010
  • Nationwide are the worst to deal with. I'm in hardship and trying to claim bank charges back as it is clear these have exasperated my problem. They just do not want to know.
  • To be honest I disagree with Martin, threatening court and not following it through is of benefit to the banks. They will have heard the threat many times before and not following it through, I'm with CAG on this one don't make the threat unless you are going to follow it though, it will only further embolden them.

Banks are still paying out in full on credit card charges last I heard.

Where did you send the request to?
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
