I spend alot of time on the debt forums helping people with companies constantly asking for money, its the other way round for me, abbey just keep balling up the direct debit.
I changed by DD online in December and confirmed it was changed on the telephone, yet January's payment was taken from the old account that now has no direct debit... odd. This payment stopped me closing my old account. Anyway i ring up, they apologise, they cancel the DD and set it up fresh again to the new account. I ask if a letter will be sent confirming the DD as i always have done with my mobiles and previous DDs, they say no. The DD isn't appearing on my new bank account so i ring up and they say it won't appear until the payment is made, so do not worry if it goes wrong interest will be refunded and we will call you. Well I feel it will break... and guess what it has.
Payment taken 2 days ago was refused and abbey have cancelled the DD, and they didn't ring me. So i have rung up now for a dozenth time in two months to setup a direct debit. I have this time been advised a letter will be sent out. And that previous issues are results of system failures
Why does a credit company that hassles people to pay, fail so badly at actually taking payment from someone who pays in full.

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
